Daily Scripture May 23, 2012
Colossians 2:1-3
I want you to know how much I am struggling for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not met me personally. 2 My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

I'm very attracted to the truth in verse 3. I understand why many people prefer the spiritual-but-not-religious path, understanding that there is a higher power who can help them through life. We all need that. I wish they also understood the verse-3 truth revealed here, that ALL wisdom and knowledge are found in Jesus. On the surface it appears the single, Jesus-path is limiting, but when we become open to the truth that within that one path is "ALL wisdom and knowledge" we realize that not only is that path sufficient, but all other spiritual paths are futile.
