Easter morning always has a special meaning for me. For the past four years my Easter mornings have been spent getting up at 4 am, setting up sound equipment in the cold, and leading a Sunrise Service on the Broomfield High School football field. I know that this may sound horrible, but it is actually quite enjoyable. This is an event that allows local teens to help with a worship service and to feel a part of the Easter morning celebrations. This year was exceptionally nice, not just due to the lack of snow on the bleacher seats or the beautiful weather, both of these were excellent. But what was amazing was after the service was over we continued on with our second tradition, eating at Village Inn. This is the other part of the draw to get the teens to help out so early in the morning. This year we had an exceptionally large group, about thirty people, and we basically took over a portion of the restaurant. After we had ordered our meal our waitress came over and informed us that a woman in the restaurant had paid for our food. What a great Easter gift! What a tender and giving heart! We couldn’t believe that our food was paid for and we couldn’t even thank this kind person for their generosity. Before we could give our thanks, they had left. It was such a great reminder to the teens that were there of the gift that we receive on Easter. This generous token from a kind benefactor is a glimpse of the gift of God that we just got done celebrating. So, thank you, whoever you were, for helping us experience Easter in a whole new way. Your kindness touched many hearts that morning and the food was delicious!
